The future pro starter course

I have created a step by step online course called the future pro starter course. This course will show you everything we are about to cover and more.

While you are reading this article on how to start you handman business, you can refer to this course, so just go buy and really start your business.

Its possible to make a great living for yourself in the home service trades. There are a lot of businesses you’ve never heard of making a fortune in the home service trade, and so can you.

Lets get started.

The hardest part.

The most difficult part of this process is mentally deciding to start. I understand this, but if you have not yet made this decision, I cant help you.

The good thing is that, once you make the decision to start, everything else can be learned.

The First Step

The first step is to file an LLC or Limited Liability Company for your business. You want to operate as a LLC because it helps protect YOU and YOUR personal assets in the event litigation happens. Everything we are going to do here is to protect you and your business. \

I like to file LLC’s using legalzoom for two reasons.

  • They no longer charge a processing fee
  • Their website makes filing a LLC very easy.

You are still going to have to pay your states filing fee, so it will cost you some money. You can see me filing my LLC in The Future Pro Starter Course.

The Second Step

The second step in starting your handyman business is to file for a EIN. A EIN is a nine-digit tax identification number given to you by the irs.

Think of this like a social security number for your business. You need need a LLC and a EIN in order to set up a business bank account.

You don’t have to pay for a EIN just go to the irs website and get one for free.

The Third Step

It’s important to remember that your business is not you! and you! are not your business.

Make sure that you are not taking your customers payments through your personal bank account. Also! Don’t make personal transactions out of you business account.

Walk into the bank of your choice and tell the banker you mean business. Open up a business bank account that suits your needs and make sure that you load some money in there.

We are going to need it for step four.

The fourth Step

This is the most important part so listen up!

Make sure that you cover your business with general liability insurance. Also known as GLI, this insurance is going to cover you business in the event there is a fault.

You can get a free quote using NEXT INS. If you find the quote reasonable, make it your businesses first purchase.

You’re all set

Congrats! You have your very own handyman business and are open for business.
